no justice for Rome! — Rome, Italy
We arrived in Rome on this day!
Jess found a really good deal where we would be able to see all of the highlights of Rome for a really good price... I think it was like... 19.50 Euros?
Anywhooo, we got picked up then made our way onto a bus that was air conditioned... THANK THE LORD!
The port that we arrived in was some sort of fishing Port, the little fishermen were so cute with their overalls and all lol
So the ticket says Tour Di Roma... The places that we were supposed to hit up were Terme Di caracalla- Pizza Venezia-For Imperiali- Colosseo esterno- colle Oppio- Traforo Romano- Fontana Di Trevi- Pantheon Pizza Navona... THEN LUNCH then.... San Pietro- partenza- salida then we depart Civitavacchia then to the port.. All of this from 1030-1730....
7 hours?!... First of all, I felt like I was on the amazing race... secondly, my mom was in so much pain due to her knees and back and lastly, WHAT THE HECKKK!? It was an awesome tour but we really were not able to absorb all of that in 7 hrs... lol.
We actually stopped for the Colosseum... we didn't get a chance to go in but we ended up taking a whole LOT of pictures from the outside. Then we got on the bus again and I think the next time we stopped was when we went to the Trevi Fountain... Jess and I did the usual coin toss and tried to capture it with the burst function on our cameras... FAIL.... The fountain was a lot smaller than I thought but it was BEAUTIFUL. The square was pretty small and packed. We stopped there for about an hour to have lunch and enjoy the view. We had pizza again and had some yummmy gelato... We got 2 scoops each so I chose the lemon and hazelnut... DROOOL
We then hopped onto our bus then made our way to the San Pietro Basilica... We were allowed to go in if we wanted but 1) I am not Catholic so there wasn't really a desire for me to go in and 2) not enough time because we only had an hour and a half. SOOO we walked around, took pictures and drank from the water fountains in the middle of the streets... I think this was one of the coolest parts of my time in Rome, we were able to sit down and really enjoy being submerged in this super religious location and it was cool seeing how the culture embraces it...
After hour 1.5 hrs was up, we made our way back to the pick up point and then were dropped off at our ship... Tired and all worn out, we washed up and took a nap before we all met up for dinner...
What a full and exhausting day... ROME is a place I definitely need to visit again...
